Making the Future - crafts in STEAM talk
Ever wondered how Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths (STEAM) could come together in one inspiring career? I had the pleasure of showing hundreds of secondary school and college students just how their academic subjects could fit into a fulfilling career in the crafts sector. The virtual event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase how STEAM disciplines can merge into creative, innovative careers. I was thrilled to see how many students were amazed at the intersection of art and engineering in globemaking.

One teacher shared a memorable moment after the event, saying, “I had one male student in the group who was mesmerised. He had no idea people did this kind of thing. He was like, ‘Wow! That’s amazing! I never knew art involved stuff like that, or that Science could be part of it.’” It’s moments like these that make sharing my work so rewarding.
